観音寺

Fascinated by fire, I visited the fire walking ritual again this year. It's not good to drink too much, but it can distract you from being afraid of the cold. *** That's my excuse, in this time, I had a few drinks before visiting the shrine. Although the cold is modest compared to last year, It's seasonal, and it doesn't change the fact that it's cold. The drunken time will end soon,because the cold makes me calm. People walk clockwise around a square sanctuary. We pray without think anything. Flames and smoke rising high. It's still too early for me to be arrogant. 火に魅入られて 今年も訪問させて頂いた火渡り神事。 冷たい空気の中で 柏手の音がよく響く。 *** 酔っぱらいの善悪を語るのは別として 神事にはお酒が欠かせない。 きっとお酒を飲むことで2つの効果があるからだと思う。 1つは一種のトランス状態になること。 神様に自分の意識が繋がれるかは分からないが 日頃、気にしている事には脱力し 目の前の事に集中し、深層意識に入っていく。 酔いが覚めてしまったら 表層意識には覚えていない事かもしれない。 もう1つ、痛覚を鈍らせてくれる効果もある。 丁度、寒い季節柄だ。 飲み過ぎは良くないが、寒さも紛れるというもの。 *** そう言い訳して 私も参拝前に少し頂いてきた。 去年に比べれば控えめとは言え 季節柄、寒い事には変わりない。 真四角の聖域を人々が時計回りに歩く。 無心になって。 高々と上がる炎と煙。 蟹江町今西1丁目204-1 観音寺 お寺、ではあるが火渡りは神事の領域。 力の籠った言葉も 行われる聖域も 厳かな仕草も。 今年1年、 傷ついた自分を癒し 頑張った自分を励まし 慢心している自分に喝を入れる。 まだ、自分は成長途中なのだと。 驕るには未だ未だ早い。

真言宗智山派に属し、山号は海王山。普段は質素な佇まいの静かな寺だが、冬場に行われる火渡り神事の時は近隣の人々で賑わう。
